Japanese traffic rules
1. In Japan, you drive on the left. Turning left at a red light is not allowed.
However, if the green arrow signal is on, you can follow the green arrow and turn left at the red light.
2. Make sure the driver and all passengers fasten their seat belts. This is required by Japanese law.
3. All roads (local roads or toll roads) have speed limits. Please obey the relevant speed limits and drive safely.
4. If you wish to park, even for a short time, please use the parking lot.
5. Using a mobile phone while driving is subject to penalties. Please refrain from using your mobile phone while driving.
Penalties for drunk driving
Penalties for drunk driving are very strict in Japan. Penalties apply if you consume even a drop of alcohol before driving.
Penalties apply not only to the driver, but also to passengers traveling with the driver.
Do not drive if you have even a drop of alcohol.
1. If your car has an illegal parking sticker, please go to the local police station immediately.
2. Follow the instructions, pay your fine, and keep your stamped receipt.
3. Please present the illegal parking sticker and receipt when return the car.
If payment of the fine cannot be confirmed, a deposit will be requested as follows.Deposit

*The deposit will be refunded after payment of the fine and submission of a violation notice, stamped receipt or proof of payment of the fine.
